I don't watch the news. On the rare occasions that I do, the main stories include: rapists, murders, suicides, politics, national debt, and lost children. Very depressing stuff, but very real in today's society.
I'm currently reading in Acts & I'm constantly amazed by Paul.
Like jaw dropping, heart pounding amazement.
This excerpt pretty much sums him up.
22 “And now, compelled by the Spirit, I am going to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there. 23 I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit warns me that prison and hardships are facing me. 24 However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace."
Acts 20: 22-24
Wow Paul, way to set the bar!
In all seriousness, Paul knew all too well about God's grace. He wasn't perfect by any stretch, he even persecuted Christians before accepting the Lord as his Savior. However, once Paul became a Christ follower, his whole life changed. He persevered through relentless hardships to spread the good news that changed his life & saved his soul.
I have a lot to learn from Paul. I think we can all learn a lot from him. He had uncanny obedience, character, perseverance, & a true, devout love for God. He fully relied & trusted in his Heavenly Father. Paul got the memo. How long is it gonna take us to?
It was on my heart to share this.
If we were all like Paul, I believe the news would be much more bearable.
