Happy "Da Da" Day

Today is Father's Day and I happen to especially know two great ones!  Sidenote:  I'm going to apologize in advance for the sub-par picture quality, my iphone served as my camera today.
Happy Daddy Day to this man
My sweet, sweet Jimbo.  Everyone that knows my daddy, loves him.  He has the most precious, sincere heart of any person I know.  It's people like Jimbo that make this harsh, cruel world a better place.    He loves with his whole heart.  To see the love and adoration that he has for dude, just makes my heart want to burst.  I am so thankful for his love & guidance throughout my life!  Our little trailer wasn't much to look at, but it sure was filled with love.  Thank you daddy for all you have done and continue to do.  I love you!

And this man
My gorgeous husband!  He is "da da" to our precious little boy, but my goodness he is so much more!  He is a provider, leader, lover, admirer, supporter, encourager, etc- the list could go on & on, but I'm running out of "er" words, so I'll stop at those.  He leaves us for 2 weeks to hustle & provide for our family.  He leads our home in Bible study, as well as tough decisions that have to be made.  He loves us to the end of the earth.  He has totally stepped up to the plate with dude & helps me out a lot.  He admires me for some reason and continually builds me up.  He supports my endeavors.  And most of all he encourages me constantly.  There isn't a week that goes by when he doesn't tell me what a good wife and mother I am.  He also encourages me to be a better person.  Now, don't get me wrong, we have our tiffs, but ultimately we love each other.  And what God put together let no man tear apart!  God chose him to be my husband & I am incredibly thankful for him.
Here we are having a picnic in our backyard.  It was dark and past dude's bedtime, but is a special memory I will always have!
BTW here is a recent gift he adorned me with.

A beautiful, thoughtful cross necklace.  He was kind of in the dog house when he bought it, which made him temporarily lose his mind & pay way too much for it.  I know it's sweet, but doesn't he know we have land to pay for?  All jokes aside, after he told me that it cost my monthly salary, I told him that I simply could not keep it.  Don't get me wrong, my flesh wanted to keep it, but my heart just couldn't.  So back to the jewelry store it went and would you believe that my bible verses that night read this-
"Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh.[c]" Romans 8:14
I must say that I don't think there is anything wrong with beautiful, even expensive gifts.  I have received my fair share, but for some reason I was convicted in that moment.
Wow, can you say got off on a tangent?
Back to Fathers Day.  We went to church today & dude wore shoes for the very first time.
He did not like them.  I kept telling him "Jesus wore shoes, he wore sandals kind of like yours" but he didn't care.  The hatred toward the shoes must have carried into his nursery time because when we picked him up the shoes were off!
After church we ate at Table 100, swam at mammy & pappy's house, and ate at Stix.  Not a good day for my diet, but a good day for sweet family time!
I have some more posts & pictures that I need to blog about so stay tuned.  And I'll have plenty of time to do them because Rudy is leaving early Tuesday morning.  He has been off work for a whole month and it has been WONDERFUL!  I seriously feel like I have been on a vacation and we've loved every minute of him being home.  I hope yall's summer has been great so far & happy Father's day!
