All Over the Place

Warning: This post is going to be all over the place.

First things first- my dear husband and best friend is coming home tomorrow! To say that I am ready to see him is an understatement. I have trouble leaving dude for a few hours and can’t imagine doing it for 2 weeks. Let me just tell ya’ll a lot of prayer is what gets him by. Speaking of prayer, thank Jesus I am finished with my “chores.” For those who of you who have husbands who work out of town will totally understand my to-do list before the hubs gets home! The madness starts about 4 days before Rudy comes home. On Sunday afternoon, I design my meal plan for the next two weeks and that night (when groceries are supposedly the cheapest & dude is asleep at my parents) I buy my groceries for the next 2 weeks. I don’t buy meats at this time cause I don’t want them to spoil before I get the chance to cook them. For some reason that happens a lot and it really annoys me. Anyway, the next day I clean half of my house. I’m not talking vacuuming & mopping.. Nooo I’m talking dusting everything, cleaning ceiling fans, wipe out cabinets, etc. Literally, I stayed up until midnight cleaning. I know, something is wrong with me. Tuesday consists of cleaning the rest of my house, washing my car, paying bills, and buying my meats. Whew, I am slowly but surely becoming a housewife…

Last night we celebrated my other best friend’s birthday at Local 463. Casey is now 24 years old and will always be my duckie. We have way too many stories, laugh way too hard, and act way crazier than we should. We can go weeks without talking, but when we see each other we never miss a beat! She will always have a place in my heart and I love her dearly. I guess it’s worth mentioning that her cake was a trailer. Literally a trailer cake.. It’s an ongoing joke because we both grew up in trailers and kid about it from time to time. That is why I love her so… You are my best friend & don’t worry one day we will legally be family because Hagan is going to marry your niece:) I mean just look at her, he won’t be able to resist!
Ok, speaking of the puppy here is a video of him laughing. If you’re wondering why I’m saying bumblebee so many times, it’s because we say this rhyme all the time.
Bumblebee Bumblebee comes from the barn
Stings little Hagan under the arm!!!!
It is so funny when he laughs everytime I say bumblebee because he knows he’s about to get tickled! He is such a joy in my life and I am so lucky to be his momma. There is nothing I wouldn’t do for him & I fall more and more in love with him every day!

Moving on. I warned this would be random. I have been meaning to blog about Granny’s shoes. As long as I can remember my Granny would make cactus shoes. She would take people that she loved shoes & plant a cactus in them. I even have a picture in my house that I took of Granny’s shoes. I don’t know why, but I love this about her. This along with a million other things. She is so precious to me and a part of her will live on because I now have cactus shoes in my house for each of us.
Aren’t they cute? It’s only natural that a pink cactus lives in my high heel shoe.

I think I want to start blogging about cooking. Just to give you a little background on my culinary skills. Well really there isn’t a lot of background to discuss because I had none. Hamburger helper was about it! To be honest, when I realized that in the near future I was going to have to start making meals for dude- I panicked. I mean PANICKED. So, I have decided to ease my anxiety and learn how to cook. June, my mother-in-law, is the best cook I know. It is not easy following in her footsteps, but she is more than willing to teach me her ways. So, I’m learning and I want to share my cooking stories & recipes with yall! So stay tuned.

Well, I guess that’s it. How random is my brain tonight? It may be from smelling all the cleaning fumes… Later Taters.
